According to the latest data released by Alphaliner, as of October 6th, there were a total of 6712 container ships in operation worldwide, with a total capacity of 2.7894 million TEUs, equivalent to approximately 333 million deadweight tons. The top three liner companies account for 46.64% of the global market's total transportation capacity.

The top three global shipping companies in terms of transportation capacity are Mediterranean Shipping (5.3943 million TEUs, 19.34%), Maersk Shipping (4.1289 million TEUs, 14.80%), and Delta Shipping (3.4881 million TEUs, 12.50%).

Alphaliner pointed out that the fourth and tenth place in terms of transportation capacity are: COSCO Shipping Group, Herbrot, Ocean Network Shipping (ONE), Evergreen Shipping, Modern Merchant Shipping, Yangming Shipping, and Yixing Shipping. Among them, the top 7 have transportation capacity exceeding 1.5 million TEUs.

Ranked 11th to 20th, they are Wanhai Shipping, Taiping Shipping, Haifeng International, KMTC, X-Press Feeders Group, IRISL, UniFeeder, Zhonggu Shipping, Changjin Merchant Shipping, and Sea Lead Shipping.

Among the mainland Chinese shipping companies on the list, COSCO Shipping ranks 4th, Haifeng International ranks 13th, Zhonggu Xinliang Shipping ranks 18th, and ANTONG Holdings (Quanzhou Ansheng Shipping) Ranked 21st, Ningbo Ocean Shipping Ranked 29th, Shanghai Jinjiang Shipping Ranked 32nd, China International Shipping Ranked 33rd, Yangpu Xinyuan Shipping Ranked 37th, Tangshan Port Hede Shipping Ranked 42nd, China United Shipping Ranked 45th, Taicang Port Container Shipping Ranked 64th, Dalian Jifa Bohai Rim Shipping Ranked 81st, Hai'an New Port Ranked 90th, Tianjin Datong Shipping Ranked 91st, Dalian Trade Wind Shipping Ranked 95th, Guangxi Hongxiang Shipping Ranked 96th Bit.
